Lorenz Estermann
Marina House I

Born 1968 in Linz/Upper Austria. Studied 1988-1993 at the University of Applied Arts with Prof. Ernst Caramelle, master class free graphics. Diploma 1993. Lives and works in Vienna.

Lorenz Estermann is a master in dealing with architectural prototypes and fragments, located in the countryside and on the peripheries of big cities. He is more interested in the old and the used, in the functionalism crafted by non-architects, than in stereotypical usability, architectural fashions and the initial perfection of buildings that temporarily defy the ravages of time as beach houses, sausage stalls, petrol stations, ship pavilions or waiting houses with visible loss of substance.
